28 Years Later Beyond Thunderdome

Starring Malcolm McDowell as Tina Turner! He just needs to put his hair in a Slinky.

Ok, it ain’t one of the official 28 or Mad Max movies, but with the Reaper virus, the quarantining of humans, the car chase scenes and the crazy outfits, director Neil Marshall’s Doomsday sure seems like one in the trailer embedded below. The action and production values look good, though, and if I remember correctly, people were going nuts when they saw some Doomsday footage at Comic Con last year. So, maybe it’s decent. I haven’t seen Marshall’s other films, The Descent and Dog Soldiers, but I know they’re generally well-liked.

You can watch the trailer below in crappy YouTube bootlegged version or in Yahoo hi-def version, but you gotta go to their site.

P.S. If somebody were to reboot the Mad Max series, they could certainly do it with Doomsday’s David O’Hara. He’s also the dude in The Departed who can’t spell “citizens” right. Something about the guy I like and this could be a huge year for him, actually, between this and starring as the main villain Mr. X in Wanted later this summer. I hope it’s his turn to break out.
